Unemployment is a term referring to individuals who are employable and actively seeking a job but are unable to find a job. Included in this group are those people in the workforce who are working but do not have an appropriate job. It a social and economic problem that affects many sections of society along with the youth. In a developing country like India, where the population is growing rapidly, employment opportunities are becoming limited. Due to increasing economic development, the level of poverty among people is rising. This problem not only causes economic instability but also promotes crime and social tension.

- Technological Change: The arrival of many technologies is happening, which can render some jobs obsolete. This can lead to increased unemployment.
- Lack of infrastructure: Inadequate basic infrastructure like transport and communication networks can hinder economic development and limit employment opportunities.
- Flaws in the education system : According to some, the Indian education system is not job-oriented, due to which youth face problems in finding employment.

In addition to these reasons, other factors can also contribute to unemployment, such as the caste system, lack of labor mobility, and flawed planning.
